Job Opportunity: Network Automation Engineer (Firewall, LAN, WAN, WiFi)

For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Network Automation Engineer. You will be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and managing IT service offerings in the Netherlands. Our squad is dedicated to delivering top-notch physical and logical network services for end users, customers, workplace solutions, and business operations across branch offices, head offices, and third-party locations. Additionally, the WAN squad is responsible for the DWDM network connectivity between datacenters.

In this role, you will:

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions and describe them in network designs and activity plans for implementation.

• Maintain consumable standardized infrastructure services (resilient, high quality, highly automated, and up-to-date).

• Ensure that the squads' products and services comply with policies and minimum standards.

• Monitor and, where applicable, improve the performance, availability, and quality of our services.

• Take the lead in solving incidents, conducting root cause analysis to identify product and service improvements.

• Administer the network assets.

• Prepare, test, and deploy network changes.

• Automate the operational and maintenance work as much as possible.

• Manage third-party suppliers for delivering services to the squads.

Your Experience

You have a proven track record (2-5 years) in implementing, configuring, and modifying network infrastructure. You possess the ability to critically assess and challenge network designs, focusing on technical implementation and security aspects. You are proactive and have strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Skills

• Knowledge and experience with Firewall products
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, WIFI and DC environments
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols in a highly available environment
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (Python)
• Familiarity with orchestration platforms such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps (Git, pipeline), etc.
• Understanding of the Scrum methodology (e.g., backlog and sprint planning, review and marketplace)

Your Education and Background

• Professional and intellectual IT ability at least a bachelor’s degree
