Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Murex Finance/Accounting Business Analyst/Configurator to join our team. The successful candidate will support changes and enhancements within the Finance and Accounting domain, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and optimization of accounting processes within Murex. This role requires deep expertise in Murex, finance, and accounting, along with strong analytical and configuration skills.

As part of this mission, the Wholesale & Rural Tech department serves as the IT provider for Rabobank’s Wholesale & International business. Our systems play a critical role in supporting Rabobank’s operations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Murex Configuration and Support:
• Configure and maintain Murex for finance and accounting functionalities.
• Implement and support changes related to financial reporting and accounting requirements.
• Ensure the system is optimized for performance and stability.
• Participate in production support rotation for second and third line support providing functional and technical expertise to the support team, picking up incidents during or outside of business hours.

2. Regulatory Compliance:
• Support the implementation of regulatory changes affecting finance and accounting.
• Ensure all configurations and processes comply with financial regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to address regulatory requirements.

3. Business Analysis:
• Gather and document business requirements from finance and accounting stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for Murex.
• Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies for new initiatives.

4. Testing and Validation:
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure changes meet business requirements.
• Perform system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Identify and resolve defects during the testing phase.

5. Stakeholder Management:
• Work closely with finance, accounting, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Provide training and support to end users.
• Manage communication and expectations with stakeholders.

6. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Murex and financial accounting.
• Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities.

Required Skills and Experience:
Technical Expertise:
1. Murex System Knowledge:
• Deep understanding of the Murex platform, with a focus on its architecture and modules.
• Extensive experience in configuring and customizing Murex for finance and accounting functionalities.
• Proficiency in Murex MxML workflows, data mapping, and scripting to automate processes and integrations.
• Understand Murex pre-trade workflows, datamart reporting, official P&L views
• Good understanding of XSL, XSLT, data dictionary formulae
• In-depth understanding of Murex data model, experience with setting up user-definable fields

2. Programming languages
• Java - Experienced with Java API Development
• Unix - Proficiency in Unix commands, ability to investigate logs effectively.
• SQL Knowledge - Able to write and debug complex SQL queries

2. Product Knowledge:
• Understanding of diverse asset classes, including Fixed Income, FX, Money Market (MM), Interest Rates (Rates), Securities, and Commodities.
• Trade lifecycle: Navigate booking and market operations for FXMM, IRD vanilla products, Futures (including margin calls), and call accounts.

3. Finance and Accounting:
• Handson experience with Murex finance and accounting modules, including General Ledger (GL), subledgers, and financial reporting.
• Ability to configure financial statements, P&L reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow statements.
• Experience configuring accounting rules for trades and flows. This includes both out-of-the-box (OOB) rules and customized rules using simulation views.
• Experience in managing end of day processes, accruals, and adjustments within Murex.

4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Detailed knowledge of financial regulatory requirements and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
• Ability to implement regulatory changes within Murex, ensuring compliance with global and regional financial regulations.
• Experience in preparing regulatory reports and ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

5. Performance Optimization:
• Proficiency in optimizing Murex performance for largescale data processing and real time financial reporting.
• Experience in troubleshooting performance issues and implementing best practices for efficient system operation.

6. Integration and Automation:
• Skills in integrating Murex with other financial systems and data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
• Proficiency in using MxML Exchange, Datamart, and other Murex tools to create reports and dashboards for financial analysis and reporting.

Finance and Accounting Projects:
• Successfully lead projects to implement new finance and accounting features in Murex.
• Configure complex financial reporting scenarios and accounting adjustments for various financial products, ensuring accurate financial statements.

Regulatory Implementation:
• Play a key role in implementing changes for new accounting standards within Murex.
• Develop and maintain regulatory reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

System Enhancements:
• Lead initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability, including database optimizations, code enhancements, and process streamlining.
• Work with cross functional teams to upgrade Murex versions and apply patches, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Murex, finance, accounting, or project management are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with other financial and accounting systems and tools.
• Prior experience working in a financial services or banking environment.
• Knowledge of additional regulatory requirements impacting the Finance and Accounting domain.
