At Rabobank IT, within the Conversational AI department, we’re seeking an experienced Scrum Master who can guide DevOps teams, with a specialty in assisting GenAi teams, in scaled environments. As a coach, you’ll empower your team members to embrace Agile practices and reach their full potential. Your positive influence will foster a growth-oriented culture where excellence thrives.
Our organization is setup in tribes, areas and squads. You will be working in the area Conversational AI, part of tribe DCI. As a Scrum Master you will be working with two to three squads, communicating in English.

We believe that Scrum Masters can coach in their squads and area and therewith make an impact on the bigger organization. We think our group of Scrum Masters are best placed to work together to develop the area as a whole. This includes solving organisational impediments, challenging priorities & focus and facilitating in area strategy, goals & KPI setting.

Who are you: You are down to earth and dare to challenge the status quo. You help your teams to find practical solutions for their everyday challenges. You have good knowledge of different coaching and agile techniques/frameworks as well as considerable experience in agile work environments. You are experienced in IT and DevOps and can help your team find the balance between fast delivery and robust operations.

Looking at the different scrum master stances, we are primarily looking for the coach and change agent, who is capable of helping the teams to higher levels of autonomy (rather than the facilitator and teacher who is needed during the first stages of agile transition). You will also enjoy solving organisational impediments at the area level and should be able to influence all kind of stakeholders to work better together.

What we expect from you: You are familiar with IT and should be able to contribute to the IT strategy for the area. You participate in the squad triangle, on equal footing with the Product Owner and Solution Architect. You act as a change agent to enable fast delivery and reliable operations for your squads. Most importantly, you coach your squads to think ahead, act pro-actively and grow in maturity.
You coach both the teams and the individual team members. You also work closely with the group of Scrum Masters to support and develop the area as a whole. This means active engagement with the Product Owner group, Solution Architect group, IT Leads and also other areas within our Tribe.

Key responsibilities:
• Apply Scrum Framework: You’ll help software development teams apply the Scrum framework effectively.
• Timeline Management: Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups, and Refinements
• Coaching and Facilitation: Coach team members in Agile methodologies, facilitate internal communication, and promote effective collaboration.
• External Communication: Act as the point of contact for external communications (e.g., customers or stakeholders).
• Backlog Handling: Work with product owners to manage backlogs and handle new requests.
• Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that hinder progress.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards at the end of each sprint.
• Scrum Maturity: Guide development teams toward higher Scrum maturity.

Functie eisen

• Scrum Experience: You’ve worked in a Scrum Master role and are familiar with software development.
• Agile Knowledge: Excellent understanding of Scrum techniques and artifacts (e.g., definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement).
• Additional Frameworks: Good knowledge Scaled Agile Framework
• Effective Communication: Strong communication and servant leadership skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues and conflicts.
• Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational abilities.
• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• Certification: Scrum Master certification (PSM 1) is a must, (PSM2) is a pre.

Working conditions This job role is split between operational (run) and project (build) work (75%/25%). Some changes are planned outside business hours to minimize business impact. This job vacancy is for the location Utrecht (NL).
