Subject Matter Expert FEC
Job description
The Financial Economic Crime (FEC) department maintains an overview of our client’s activities, allowing us to identify unusual, suspicious, or potentially illegal activity. Together, we safeguard our customers, the bank, and society by detecting and preventing financial and economic crime.
FEC Pillars
FEC consists of several Pillars covering CDD, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Risk and Compliance, Business Advisory, and Technology. Working together is at the heart of everything we do. Reaching the ambition of a world-class FEC organization can only be done when all functions within the bank collaborate and execute their roles effectively. Within our chain, we continuously strive to improve. All employees and managers contribute their unique value to the end result. The culture is open, and while the bar is set high, people are our most important assets. There is a safe environment where you are encouraged to address one another on quality and behavior.
You and Your Job
As a Subject Matter Expert, you will focus on Markets as a topic. Markets is a global division of Wholesale and Rural that offers risk management and funding products to our clients. You will work with other functions to identify and understand the FEC risks associated with the Global Markets business, ensuring that the Bank’s FEC control framework adequately addresses those risks.
You will be engaged with and provide input to the Global SIRA and RAS processes. You will create a storyline on how Rabobank is managing its FEC risk related to Markets and report periodically on the risk exposure, efforts, and results.
Your role will involve working with stakeholders across the Bank to address findings and ensure the timely execution of action plans. You will help identify and define the control measures necessary for mitigating risks. These measures may focus on preventing and/or detecting risks and can be manual or automated. You will drive the implementation and enhancement of these control measures by their owners, who may be inside or outside of the FEC organization. Additionally, you will identify the need for updates to FEC policies and propose changes where necessary.
You will provide expert advice to support effective operational handling, both in defining standard work instructions and supporting individual cases as required. You may also be tasked with defining training requirements or developing and providing training for staff members of involved departments.
Responsibilities/Requirements
-
You are a strong sparring partner for our stakeholders, with thorough knowledge of both the FEC domain and the risks related to Markets products and its clients.
-
You are an independent expert who can drive progress and address control and process deficiencies.
-
You create project plans and manage responsibilities, dependencies, and deadlines.
-
You track developments, observe issues and bottlenecks, and report/consult/escalate, signaling trends and providing reports/management information.
-
You work closely with other FEC teams to understand the challenges and risks within their processes.
-
You contribute to the implementation and operationalization of global procedures, standards, and policies within the FEC domain.
-
You possess a proactive, hands-on approach, with a strong focus on quality and adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
-
You provide solicited and unsolicited professional advice to colleagues from FEC, the business, and (senior) management.
-
You stimulate the growth and embedding of expertise within the department by documenting and sharing your knowledge, coaching, and training colleagues.
